I had 1tb space in my ubuntu server in the morning. But now It has been decreased to 350GB. There is no command running in the system. I don't understand what is happening to my system. I have already tried auto remove and clean commands. But it did not recover the space.

Anyone please provide your assistance in resolving the issue.

Thankyou

It might be better for you to post on stackoverflow (either ask ubuntu or super user). A quick check could be to run df -h or du -h | sort -h on your HOME to see where all the space is going.

  • install ncdu - sudo apt install ncdu

Start tracking down problems

# check in your home
cd
ncdu

cd /tmp
ncdu

etc

Also really check no commands are running

ps -aux | less -S

htop

# includes IO, will need to be installed
