Attention GDC Users: The GDC Legacy Archive is retiring soon. SOME FILES WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE! Please download any needed files as soon as possible.

This will not impact data in the current GDC data portal (hg38), but will affect old TCGA/TARGET analysis you are currently downloading from the legacy archive (hg18, hg19).

Hi Zhenyu, do you happen to know how I can download metadata for some of the legacy files? I downloaded several IDATs from the legacy data but lost the metadata for them. Since the archive is offline, I can't look it up through the API.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you are talking about methylation idat files, they were all migrated from legacy to the data portal.

If you are talking about other platforms, ISB-CGC keeps a copy of GDC files and I think they are keeping many of the legacy files.
