Alternative Database for Somatic Indel Realignment (COSMIC Alternative)

Hello everyone,

I currently use COSMIC data for indel realignment to check for known somatic indels. However, COSMIC will soon start charging for their resources, and we will no longer be able to use it.

Could anyone advise on alternative VCF file for somatic indel realignment? I am particularly interested in free or open-access options that provide comprehensive and reliable data similar to what COSMIC offers.

One alternative that I have seen is the simple_somatic_mutation_aggregated VCF from the ICGC data portal: here. It's from the ICGC data portal (here) which has some more other data/more details available too. I haven't looked into it too much yet but have seen in mentioned before.
