Join us for the Autumn School in Bioinformatics from October 21-25, 2024! This online course offers an in-depth exploration of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.
General Topic: Understanding and Working with Next-Generation Sequencing Data
Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course68/
- Dive into NGS biology, mastering both concepts and data handling.
- Learn quality assessment, genome assembly, RNAseq, differential gene expression, and phylogenomics.
- Focus on both Illumina data and long-read data (Oxford Nanopore Technologies/PacBio).
Course Structure:
- Five-day modular format with lectures, discussions, and hands-on sessions.
- Practical exercises to reinforce skills and knowledge.
- Group discussions on results interpretation.
Learning Outcomes:
- Handle NGS data reliably and reproducibly.
- Understand the strengths and pitfalls of NGS.
- Gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art methods in genomics, transcriptomics, and phylogenomics.
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different sequencing technologies.
Participants are encouraged to bring their data for analysis and discussion.
Will there be any recordings of this workshop or at least the material made available online after? Looks really great, but the time zone difference in Australia means I wouldn't be able to attend.
Hi, yes all sessions will be recorded.
How come this is not called Autumn School in NGS? The title seems to be a bit misleading.
