Exciting 2024 Summer Internship Opportunity in Translational Genetics Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals! (Location San Diego)
We are looking for a passionate intern to join our team in San Diego and gain hands-on experience in computational biology. As an intern, you will work on siRNA target validation for neurodegenerative diseases. You will use state-of-the-art computational tools, artificial intelligence (AI) and delve into extensive omics databases to identify and validate potential siRNA targets. Your work will be pivotal in making a tangible impact on drug discovery for neurodegenerative disorders.
Here's what you'll do:
- Compiling a bioinformatics workflow to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and multi-omics data (genetics and RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, proteomics data etc) to identify neurodegenerative disease target
- Conduct in-depth computational validation using sophisticated in silico data and models.
- Analyze and compile crucial datasets, contributing directly to our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.
- Exploring the therapeutic potential of new siRNA targets and publishing your groundbreaking findings.
Who we are looking for:
- A current student in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Biostatistics, with a passion for making a difference in the medical field.
- Skilled in programming (R or Python), with a solid foundation in data processing and omics data analysis.
- Eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting, with a particular interest in neurodegeneration and drug discovery.
