Li Lab (https://yanjun-li.com/) at the University of Florida is currently seeking highly motivated and self-driven Ph.D. students (for Spring 2025 and Fall 2025) and Postdoc Associate (starting immediately). We focus on AI-driven drug discovery and optimization, utilizing deep learning techniques to accelerate the discovery of novel functional molecules for improved human health outcomes. Some of the current research interests in the lab include, but are not limited to:
- Molecule Design and Optimization: Deep Generative Modeling for de novo Small Molecule, RNA, and Protein Design and Optimization, etc.
- Molecular Recognition: Geometric Deep Learning for Molecular Interaction Prediction, e.g., Protein-protein, Protein-ligand, RNA-ligand, etc.
- Computational Biology: Genetic Variant Effect Prediction, Single-Cell RNA-sequencing, Spatial Transcriptomics, Image-based Profiling Analysis, etc.
The prospective Ph.D. students can apply for either the Computer Science program at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering or the Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the College of Pharmacy.
