Hi friends,

I have cancer patients with a condition. I have done GSEA for whole RNA-seq of tumor (protein-coding genes) comparing patients with and without the condition. Normally they should have negative enrichment of oxidative phosphorylation due to this condition's features. my male patients have this, but it is positively enriched in females. Also, they should have perturbed fatty acid metabolism. I have it in males and not in females. How can we interpret these results?

Thanks

do you have the same proportion of males and females in both groups? if yes, go to PubMed and try to find an explanation there.

no, men are almost twice as many as females.
