Is it necessary to adjust genome to the same strand direction?

I am learning this fascinating tools and I have a question that the genomes I have maybe have different strand directions since I just use original scaffold software output. So I wonder if it is necessary to put them to a uniform direction?

What are you using vg for? In general our tools will consider both strands so you shouldn't need to change the direction
