Dear all,
We’re excited to announce our upcoming Landscape Genomics Workshop taking place in person at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz, Poland, from January 20-24, 2025. This comprehensive, hands-on workshop will guide participants through the fundamental principles and applications of landscape genomics in studying genetic diversity and local adaptation across environments.
Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course17/
In this workshop, participants will:
- Learn to obtain, process, and analyse environmental data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Explore methods to characterize landscapes and study genetic variation and population structure
- Gain hands-on experience with statistical approaches, including Sambada, to study local adaptation
- Develop best practices in experiment planning, including sampling design, data interpretation, and validation.
This workshop is ideal for biologists, ecologists, geneticists, and veterinarians looking to incorporate landscape genomics into evolutionary biology and conservation studies. The workshop features ten learning sessions, blending theoretical insights with practical applications. Participants will gain real-world skills to design, implement, and analyse landscape genomics experiments effectively.
