Conversion from .lib to .faa file

I have a .lib file that I am needing to convert into a .faa format. While the overall structure of the file I am working with is similar to .faa, I am having trouble determining the main differences and problems I may run into in conversion. Any ideas for conversion to faa format? It contains illegal characters for an faa file, so conversion is necessary, wasn't sure if there are any simple tools to use for conversion. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer.

what is a .lib file ?

It is a library of protein seqs. It has the majority of the same characteristics of a faa file, but I am also struggling to determine the differences in structure other than illegal characters. I assumed this might be a more common file type that I just haven't run into yet, but that might not be the case.
