Hello everyone,
I am 27 y.o. biomedical scientist with some wet lab experience in different areas and I'm going to complete my master's degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology by the end of november this year. I'm looking into some job/internship opportunities abroad but for personal reasons I may not be able to travel for a while. During my master's I've completed some projects in NGS analysis, machine learning, computer vision (digital pathology), and computational modelling of protein-enzyme interactions. For my thesis project I conducted a comparative evaluation of methods for tumour microenvironment deconvolution using scRNA-seq input with the intent of creating a automated snakemake/nextflow pipeline in the future but I didn't really have a lot of guidance so the tool isn't ready yet.
I only started programming when I started my master's two years ago but during the course of these projects I've learned to program in Python, R and bash. I've also completed a project with mySQL and started learning Rust on the side and will be getting a certificate by december. I'm particularly interested in cell reprogramming, cancer research and virology. In the future I'd love to integrate a multidisciplinary team and do both wet and dry lab.
Please feel free to contact me via email at up202109978@up.pt with any offers or advice! Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards, Guilherme
