Hi BioStars community,
I’d like to introduce SnakeMake.IO, a tool designed to streamline and enhance Snakemake workflow management for bioinformaticians and researchers. Snakemake is an excellent tool, but it comes with common pain points around debugging, optimization, and scalability.
SnakeMake.IO aims to solve these issues by offering smarter tools that improve productivity, making workflows faster and more user-friendly. Whether you’re working on complex pipelines or simple tasks, SnakeMake.IO is built with the needs of labs and computational biology teams in mind.
I’d love to hear your feedback, especially from those of you who are already using Snakemake. Your insights will help shape future features and improvements.
Check out the product here: http://snakemake.io
Looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions!
Is it equivalent to Tower for nextfkow?
So, what does it actually do? The home page just looks like generic buzzword bingo to me. I guess it maybe makes web pages, because at the bottom of your site it says "Built by SnakeMake IO"?! Looks more like the site was built with Tailwind. I also note that all the links claiming to go to GitHub go to Substack.
This stuff might appeal to management types but I'd suggest an introductory video/screencast to show whatever you are offering in action would probably get you some more useful feedback from the user community on here. How exactly does it help me with debugging and optimization? In which directions does it scale (complexity, configurability, heterogeneity, number of users, data volume, speed, parallel execution, ...)? How did you manage to not throw AI into the mix like everyone else is doing? I'm not going to make an account on your system to try to figure that out by myself, and I suspect not many others here will, but I'll check out a video if you post one.
