Postdoctoral Research Position: Developing Novel Algorithms and Tools for Circular RNA Analysis

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Jakobilab, University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new features for circtools, our widely-used open-source software package for analyzing circular RNAs (circRNAs).

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and validate novel algorithms and tools for analyzing circRNA expression, function, and interactions
  • Analyze large-scale RNA sequencing datasets to identify key circRNAs involved in heart disease pathogenesis
  • Collaborate with experimentalists to integrate computational findings with wet-lab experiments
  • Disseminate research through publications and presentations at scientific conferences

Requirements:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant languages
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis and RNA biology
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine passion for pushing the boundaries of scientific discovery

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects developing new methods for predicting circRNA function and improving the accuracy of circRNA quantification and expression analysis
  • Collaborative research environment with a team of experts in bioinformatics, computational biology, and experimental medicine
  • Access to state-of-the-art computing resources and software packages

How to Apply:

If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your CV and a brief statement of research interests at our application portal. We look forward to hearing from you!
