Hi

I my mouse model, I have observed a novel gene carrying an individual interesting variant only in cases mice not controls. How I locate/mine/find this variant in human?

Thanks for any thoughts

GenoMax 150k

It is possible that the gene is absent in human, so keep that option open.

Otherwise start looking at the genes in the region of mouse chromosome and then take a look at the corresponding human genome. Start doing some blasting/alignments/inspections.

You will find some pre-computed homology information here: https://www.informatics.jax.org/homology.shtml

Thanks a lot

If for instance, this variant is in chr1:114704469..114716771 in mouse genome, if I am following you correctly, you mean in the same position in human genome I should look?

You will need to look at the full context. Look for genes around your region to see their concordance in two genomes. Regions may not be in the same location or even on same chromosome.
