Hello everyone,
I am an undergraduate Biotechnology student taking my first steps into the world of genomics, bioinformatics, and AI. While I’m new to these fields, i’m eager to learn and develop a solid foundation. My current interest lies in understanding the genetic basis of corvid intelligence and exploring whether these insights could contribute to AI models.
Right now i’m still in the early stages of my project, working on building my knowledge and figuring out the best approach. My goal is to analyze the genetic basis of problem-solving abilities and cognitive flexibility in corvids (e.g., ravens, crows) by comparing their genomes to intelligence-related genes in other species. Additionally, i’m curious about how machine learning could assist in processing and interpreting genetic data.
Since I’m still new to this i would really appreciate any guidance on:
- How to approach comparative genomics for intelligence-related traits;
- Key bioinformatics tools for analyzing genetic data
- Studies or datasets on corvid cognition and genomics;
- Potential applications of AI in genetics and cognitive research.
I know I have a lot to learn, but I’m excited to explore this field and grow along the way. If you have any recommendations—books, courses, tools, or even general advice—I would be really grateful. Thanks in advance for your help!
