I am trying to find the total length of ncRNA in the human genome to compare it with the size of coding regions. So far, I had any luck researching. The reason is this: when analyzing a human genome, I got lot more variants as ncRNA than on the coding regions and I am wondering whether it could happen by chance alone (in case ncRNA accounts for more bps than coding regions). Any help? Thanks.
Please note: This is ncRNA and not intronic/intergenic/UTR3/UTR5 or any such regions. The annotation is by annovar on hg19.
