I just came across Enredo-Pecan-Ortheus pipeline and while these names are cool, I couldn't find or figure out what each word stands for.. does anyone know?

This goes back to the time when I was a master student. I remember studying it on Arthur Lesk's "Introduction to Bioinformatics" book a long time ago.

Enredo-Pecan-Ortheus are the main tools of a pipeline to align genomes of different species, to identify regions of homology.

Enredo splits each genome into large segments, dealing with rearrangements and chromosome breaks. Pecan is used to align these segments against the segments of each other species aligned. Ortheus is used to reconstruct the ancestral sequence of each segment.
