snp-dists numbers don't add up

Hi,

I have been using snp-dists https://github.com/tseemann/snp-dists to assess distance between genomes, and I have strange numbers

               seq1 to seq2 = 515 snps

               seq1 to seq3 = 289 snps

               seq2 to seq3 = 5 snps

I checked the example on the Github page (copied below) and it seems to me these numbers are strange as the example shhows the sum is logical

seq1 seq1 0

seq1 seq2 1

seq1 seq3 2

seq2 seq3 3

Any help will be appreciated
